Prefer the original Companion?

Companion 1.0 is still a brilliant laser-and-treat playmate — 2.0 just adds the AI brain, self-righting and auto-docking shown above.

AI & safety
Does it really avoid stairs and drop-offs?

Yes. Edge and depth sensors detect stairs, ledges and drop-offs, so it stops and re-routes before it reaches them — it will not tumble down a staircase.

How does the AI actually recognise my cat and the room?

On-board AI runs live recognition through the camera: it picks out your cat, everyday obstacles and stair edges, then decides where it is safe to drive — all on the device, in real time. That is how it finds and follows your cat on its own.

What happens if my cat knocks it over?

Nothing — it just gets back up. Its self-righting design means a knock or a swat rolls it and pops it straight back onto its wheels, so play never ends with it stuck on its side.

Setup & app
Does it need WiFi? Is there an app?

Yes — it runs on standard 2.4GHz home WiFi and one free app (iPhone & Android) controls everything: live video, two-way audio, driving, play, treats and schedules. No hub, no monthly fee.

How does the auto-docking and charging work?

When the battery runs low it stops what it is doing, drives itself back to the charging dock, and recharges — then it is ready for the next scheduled session. You never plug it in.

How long does the battery last?

A full charge covers a normal day of scheduled play plus camera check-ins, and much longer on standby. Because it self-docks, it simply tops itself up between sessions.

What's in the box?

The Companion 2.0, its charging dock, a USB-C cable and a quick-start guide — plus your free gifts. Setup takes a few minutes in the app.

Using it day to day
How do I control it — set a schedule, let it drive itself, or take over?

Three ways, and you can mix them. Set a schedule and it wakes itself at the times you pick, plays, patrols, then docks — completely hands-free. Switch on autonomous mode and the on-board AI roams the home on its own, finds your cat and starts a chase without you. Or open the app any time and take control yourself: drive it room to room, aim the laser, toss a treat and talk live. You can jump in and take over even in the middle of a scheduled session.

What can it actually do while I'm at work?

Five things, all from your phone, anywhere: watch your cat live in 2K day or night, let the AI find and follow them, start a laser chase, toss a treat, and talk through two-way audio. Set it to auto and it runs play sessions on a schedule even when you cannot pick up.

How do the laser, treats and two-way audio work?

The laser is a low-power dot it casts and steers across the floor to trigger your cat's chase instinct. The built-in launcher flings a small dry treat as a reward — on your tap, or automatically at the end of a session. Two-way audio works like a speakerphone: you hear the room and your cat hears your voice through the app, so you can call them over or settle them from anywhere.

I work long shifts — will it keep going all day?

Easily. It plays on a schedule and, because it self-docks and recharges between sessions, it stays topped up and ready — a full 12-hour shift of check-ins and play is no problem, even back-to-back days.

How good is the camera at night?

Excellent — a 180° ultra-wide lens with infrared night vision, so you get a clear, whole-room view even in a pitch-black room.

Can more than one person control it?

Yes. Share access with your whole household — partner, kids, a cat-sitter — so anyone can watch, talk and play from their own phone.

Your cat
My cat is shy. Will it actually use it?

Most cats come around fast. Leave it parked and switched off for a day so it becomes part of the furniture, then start with a treat toss before it ever moves. The AI keeps its approach calm and on your cat's terms — and the 30-day window covers you if yours never warms up.

Will this get a lazy or overweight cat moving?

That is exactly who it helps most. The AI seeks your cat out and the moving laser triggers a hunting instinct even a couch potato cannot ignore, with a treat reward to keep them coming back. Enrichment, not a medical device.

Value, shipping & returns
Is there a subscription or monthly fee?

No. Camera, AI, audio, laser, treats and recording are all included, with no cloud fee and no monthly cost, ever.

What's different from Companion 1.0?

Companion 1.0 is the laser, treat and camera playmate you drive from your phone. 2.0 adds a full AI layer: it recognises your cat, sees and avoids obstacles and stairs, self-rights, patrols on a schedule and docks itself — far more autonomous.

Shipping, returns & warranty?

Free US shipping with tracking, typically a few business days, a 30-day return window, and a 1-year warranty. If your cat ignores it, send it back for a refund.
